One of the most demanding reconstructions on the motorway cross, the viaduct of the Ravbarkomanda at Postojna, is almost completed. In June, in cooperation with DARS, Kolektor CPG withdrew the traffic lock and released transport through a renewed viaduct.

The rehabilitation, which lasted from May 2017 to June 2019, consisted of a comprehensive restoration of the two viaducts of the length of 600 m. The works included sanation of pillars with heads and horizontal braces with connecting ends, replacing the bedded beds and rehabilitation work on the concrete bridging construction. In the context of the reconstruction of the driving structure and the resurfacing, emergency lanes were extended to 3.5 m, i.e. by a meter more than they were till now.

With this, for the first time in Slovenia, new developments were introduced for purpose of optimizing a more sustainable performance by mounting carbon rods to reinforce consoles of the driving plate, reinforcing the head of the pillars by pre-stressing and using special pairs of steel trenches to raise bridging construction when changing bed-places. A comprehensive permanent monitoring was implemented to monitor the behaviour of the viaducts during the traffic load. Total investment is estimated at 35 million euros.
