Silver Award for Innovation Presented to Kolektor Mobility – Postojna

This year, the 24th call for the selection of the best innovations in the Primorsko-Notranjska region received ten applications. The expert committee awarded three gold, three silver, and four bronze awards.

Kolektor Mobility – Postojna Branch, represented by Gregor Bizjak and Matevž Požar, received a Silver Award for their innovation Development of a Robust Laser Weld for Long-Term Leak Tightness.

In the innovation description, they stated:

"We developed a process for optimizing the laser welding of a plastic housing and cap used in a sensor product, with a focus on ensuring long-term leak tightness. Through the analysis of welding parameters and accelerated aging tests, we demonstrated that excessive energy input causes weld porosity and degradation. By optimizing the welding parameters, we achieved a robust and long-term leak-tight joint."

In her address, Vesna Nahtigal, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS), emphasized that innovation is the answer to the uncertainties of modern times and a cornerstone of companies' long-term competitiveness. She highlighted the importance of investing in development, new technologies, knowledge, and people, stressing that innovation must remain one of the key pillars of the country's development policies.

This year's award recipients once again demonstrate that the Primorsko-Notranjska region continues to be a hub of knowledge, development, and bold ideas.
